I grew up believing I had a perfect childhood—social, high-achieving, and excelling in sports through university. One year after graduating, repressed memories of childhood trauma surfaced and everything I thought I knew about myself and my life was turned upside down. What followed was nearly a decade of navigating the U.S. healthcare system while choosing again and again, to stay alive and rebuild my sense of self from the ground up. Over time, I created my own holistic system of recovery—one rooted in therapy, meditation, writing, travel, prayer, and community—which helped me get off all medications, feel safer in my body and grow closer with God. Traveling became a powerful form of regulation and attending my first Another Beautiful Day forest camp was a turning point, where I immediately felt at home. In that space, I naturally stepped into writing, coordinating and collaborating, forming a deep, ongoing partnership with Cat and Ellie. Today, my offerings are rooted in awareness, transformation and being a bridge through communication—supporting others as they navigate transitions, expansion and the courage to choose their own path. May we all remember that where there is deep pain, there is also deep love.
